Two people were killed and at least 20 others were injured in a shooting early Sunday outside of a billiards club in Hialeah, Florida, according to Miami-Dade police director Alfredo Ramirez III.
the way the article is written it sounds like an SUV pulled up outside a club, 3 armed people promptly got out and started firing indiscriminately into a crowd, and then drove off. if that's true, what the shit is that? some kind of sloppy/loud attack on somebody at the club?
it reminds me of some article i heard about 2nd hand, written by some guy talking about life under a collapsed regime after a decade of strife. he said people still go to clubs and bars and work and try to have normal lives, and it's never really universally recognized that the old system has collapsed until long after the fact. there's just lots of disorganized violence all the time. people going out to eat taking selfies, people taking pictures of violence, same day. it's just life. rarely are people brought to justice for killings, but when they are it doesn't change anything about the near constant background rate of violence.
