Don't let anyone tell you otherwise- Electric bicycles are fucking great, honestly. All the resistance from it stems either from cyclists who have their head up too far their own ass or car drivers who just hate cyclist.
If the objective is to transport you and some (minor) cargo (or lots on an E-Bike) they're pretty much objectively the best vehicle to do it for people without special needs.
Honestly I haven’t even heard much resistance, besides maybe some jabs about heavier people riding them.
That's good, allthough I have to admit not reflective of the cycling bubble I've been keeping tabs on.
Winter is a weakness (winters are brutal here) but I think it could still potentially be doable (I’d probably get studded tires for ice safety, but I know a guy who biked all winter even without).
This is sort of the insane thing where getting & driving a fuck-off big 4x4 is seen as the reasonable option, but getting an E-Fatbike (no one wants to overcome that kind of rolling resistance) is seen as a rich peoples toy .
As for the rest; yeah. Infrastructure problem, pretty much. You know how this site is pretty much train gang? It fucking rules to take a bicycle on a train to ride somewhere else.
