So according to this rich guy I'm an acquaintance of, once you get rich, you run out of things to buy pretty quickly. You get the big house, the lake house, the yacht, the seadoo, the Harley, the vacations to wonderful places...and then what? You bought everything you ever wanted. The only thing left is to buy art.
You can just go to Santa Fe and buy from there, or you can become an "art patron" and have your ass kissed at cocktail parties. Depends on if you're the kind of rich person who just cares about making money or cares that people know that you have money.
