Can someone translate the German down the bottom for me?

    “Pull yourself by the nose”, which I think means to keep your nose out of other peeps business or something

    It does mean that, but it's got more meanings wrapped into it, too:
    It implies that you should reflect on (and possible adjust) your own behavior before criticizing others' (or maybe even, to refrain from criticizing others at all, at least that's how it is often employed)

    the proverb is still very much in use, btw.
