Can someone translate the German down the bottom for me?
Zieeh sich ein yeydts selbst bey Der nasn --
Waß Dich nit Prendt Thue auch nicht Plasn.translates to:
clean your room
spoiler
more like:
work on yourself
don't interfere where it doesn't concern youliteral:
everyone, grab your own nose (it's an idiom, not really translatable)
don't blow when it doesn't burn you (like, blowing on hot food)after furiously googling it, it seems to read
Zieeh sich ein yeydts selbst bey Der nasn -- Waß Dich nit Prendt Thue auch nicht Plasn.
which google poorly translates to
Pull yourself on yeydts yourself bey the nasn - Don't worry about Prendt Thue either.
It's apparently in reference to a popular proverb at the time "Pull yourself by the nose", which I think means to keep your nose out of other peeps business or something, the image of the bird biting the nose is called the bird of self-knowledge
For shits and giggles you can google Vogel Selbsterkenntnis which has tons of this image made throughout the years, people made drawings of it, sculptures of it, you name it
“Pull yourself by the nose”, which I think means to keep your nose out of other peeps business or something
It does mean that, but it's got more meanings wrapped into it, too:
It implies that you should reflect on (and possible adjust) your own behavior before criticizing others' (or maybe even, to refrain from criticizing others at all, at least that's how it is often employed)the proverb is still very much in use, btw.

It's 17th century german, the meaning is "mind your own business"
I don't know what it is, but I do know that it will be making an appearance in my D&D game some time soon.
Isn't a beard technically pubic hair too? As in hair that begins growing during/after puberty.
The hairs themselves are a lot more like pubes than head hair, FWIW...
Puberty and pubic are descended from the Latin "pubertatum" which just means "age of maturity". I maintain that beards are pubes.
It is believed that our groin hair has stayed thick (while most of our body hair has thinned out over our evolutionary time) so that it can release pheromones and attract mates, and your beard does it, too. Sebaceous glands are higher on your face than your scalp, Buka said, which leads to an increase in sebum, which carries pheromones. And since it's richer in sebum, and richer in pheromones, your beard has a distinct smell. "Your signature smell comes more from beard hair than from scalp hair. The base of a hair follicle is much bigger on your face, which is why it looks thicker on your face than your scalp hair. But it’s considered the same type of process, slightly different growth rates but same morphology otherwise," Buka said. In conclusion: If you have a beard, you have pubes on your face. Or, maybe your privates have a little beard on them down there. But for what it's worth, does Buka personally refer to beard hair as pubic hair? "No, I do not," he said.
They just don't want to admit that beards are pubes.
Pubes are hair on the pubis. Is your face a pubis? No. Thus face hair not pubes.
'Sticking one's nose where it doesn't belong!'
As the German saying goes: "He who interferes with what doesn't concern him finds what doesn't please him."
