The usual choice in contemporary western neoliberal countries is this:
Do you vote for the neoliberal who condescends to you and tells you nothing can or should meaningfully change no matter how bad things are getting?
Or do you vote for the right wing carnival barker that is at least promising change of some kind?

debt is a real problem for a country. They should cut back on the military and invest that money in the country which would increase income
the country has a debt problem but not a spending problem it has an income problem (also it does have a spending problem but with the military) in terms of household budgetting infrastructure and social programs are the bus fare to work and the military is an addiction to crack. Cutting back on the costs that result in income and larger savings is not the solution
