The eastern indigo is the biggest snake species native to North America. This formidable colubrid reaches lengths of 2.8m. A highly active and intelligent predator, it counts rattlesnakes amongst its favorite prey items. It is not venomous, it is not a constrictor, but it is immune to rattlesnake venom and just goes and overpowers them. Don't tread on me? The eastern indogo gives zero fucks about that.
