It seems there are a lot of common misconceptions about how stuff works on lemmy. I regularly see people not understanding what community or instance they are posting on. It wouldn't suprise me if this person didn't have any idea who they were reporting content to.
I think a lot of the reddit exodus are so used to reddit "taking care of the riff-raff" that they don't understand that people are actually free to go against the western narrative without being banned here.
