I am ever so slightly proud of starting the trend of mods bullying lemmy libs when they file bullshit reports. It's just such a chefs-kiss to me

If you were first good on you but I think this was a form of convergent evolution/simultaneous invention. It seemed to just have organically happened on federation.

Also I am fairly certain it was a rare occurrence but had precedent pre-federation too.

That said, I love it every time I see one of these so I thought I would share for all to enjoy. That's how communism works right?

If they didn't want to be publicly owned they shouldn't have engaged with a communist forum

@Lemmesee@lemm.ee How exactly does this constitute support for terrorism?

And does this mean that Israel also supports terrorism?

I am being nice. I am calling them out because this is snitch behavior, and while this is a fairly innocent example on its face, this mentality can and will get people expelled, fired, jailed, or even killed.

What are they hoping to accomplish with this? Get someone in trouble for joking about the absurdity of reactionary propaganda?

Literally yes. I posted a meme comparing US cops to Nazis and someone tagged the FBI account lol.

          Sabra and Shatila.

It's also an older term for Israeli settlers

They simplified another name in english. In Hebrew there is Tsabra, which is a cactus and was adopted for Israelis born in the lands of Palestine. Arabic writes it with a sin, not a sad, different letters.

          س ص

Sabra, the camp, is written with a sad, non-arab ears dont really hear the difference without a little bit of training.

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabra_(person)

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabra_and_Shatila_massacre

You can look at the pages in arabic and you'll see they are different. It still speaks to a lot of ignorance/not caring to name it like that though, considering the company was founded only 2 years after the massacres happened.

He made one in this very video. Sabra is owned by Strauss Group, one of Israel's largest food companies.

I think that's part of the subtext. Sabra being demanded by the unquenchable lord of the pit, and opening that with and up next is jeb.

He doesn't do bits like this anymore to my knowledge. One of the last times his real humor was allowed. The other was the "I have to do what corporate says or I lose the show".

The exposing super pacs was what was his and Stewart's One Good Shot against the establishment. This applies to about everyone. Then they either turn you to the establishment's favor or they burn you. flattened-bernie

I stopped watching him after the 2016 primaries.

It seems there are a lot of common misconceptions about how stuff works on lemmy. I regularly see people not understanding what community or instance they are posting on. It wouldn't suprise me if this person didn't have any idea who they were reporting content to.

I think a lot of the reddit exodus are so used to reddit "taking care of the riff-raff" that they don't understand that people are actually free to go against the western narrative without being banned here.

"Terrorism" is simply a term of legitimization and de-legitimization. It legitimizes the violence of the oppressor (in this case israel: "they have to combat terrorists / terrorism") and de-legitimizes the violence of the oppressed (Hamas, but really the entirety of Palestine: "they're just terrorists, they totally just want to terrorize people and be assholes because they're like that").

"they're just terrorists, they totally just want to terrorize people and be assholes because they're like that"

More than that they are literally calling them Nazis now in an extremely twisted justification of genocide.

While this is worthy of mockery, i will say that a reason i don't report is posts like this. The fact that reports are not anonymous and are subject of mockery.
