I had something similar Dec 2019/Jan 2020. I threw up for twelve hours straight and was starting to get concerned about dehydration when it finally stopped. But I continued feeling flu-ish for probably around a week, and had to work my way back to eating normally. I don’t think I’ve been that sick since childhood. Just brutal.
I entertained the same thought that spring, but the lack of respiratory symptoms makes me doubt it. It’s also plausible that there was a bad stomach flu circulating that winter. Not going to know for sure now, I’m just glad I didn’t pass it to my partner.
