I was gonna say FurFur for the antlers and also, now that I look closely, some decent pecs.

I entertained the same thought that spring, but the lack of respiratory symptoms makes me doubt it. It’s also plausible that there was a bad stomach flu circulating that winter. Not going to know for sure now, I’m just glad I didn’t pass it to my partner.
I had something similar Dec 2019/Jan 2020. I threw up for twelve hours straight and was starting to get concerned about dehydration when it finally stopped. But I continued feeling flu-ish for probably around a week, and had to work my way back to eating normally. I don’t think I’ve been that sick since childhood. Just brutal.
Clones of Jeffrey Combs are my favorite.
I just watched the ‘60s Batman movie and it was honestly the most fun I’ve ever had watching a Batman movie. It’s goddamn art.
I believe some of the more famous sideshow performers were able to make a good living, and sold photographs of their likeness or made appearances aside from the sideshows to supplement their income. But that experience was far from universal, and certainly none were ever as wealthy as Barnum. Not a small number of sideshow performers were developmentally disabled or didn’t speak English and were blatantly being exploited.
I studied the history of circuses and sideshows in college, and it completely turned me off the circus. Maybe some small circuses treated their animals and employees better, but the industry itself was just the quintessential capitalist machine, churning through bodies for profit.
The Lodger (1927), one of Hitchcock’s early films. I like it. Read the book it was based on recently and that was pretty good too.
I’m so glad to hear it!
There are multiple naturally loud people at my job, and one in particular who just often sounds stressed out no matter what she’s saying. I’m constantly on edge for no reason, and I hate it.
No, but I’d like to get my hands on a David.
Well, if it helps, he looks very feminine in that role, and I still like the look. I think hair clips sound like a good next step, or maybe even headbands? Hats? It might be rough for a little while, but bad haircuts really do grow out faster than you expect.
I get it, sort of, because I have slightly unusual hair that has become tied to my sense of self over the years. But it grows back. And a chin-length bob is, in my opinion, the cutest femme hairstyle out there. I know it’s just my opinion, but it always looks clean and fun to me.
I think if you feel grief and regret, go ahead and feel those feelings... but stop and remind yourself that these feelings are temporary. The hair will grow back. You haven’t actually obliterated a major part of yourself. You never have to get such a drastic cut again, if you don’t want to. It will grow back, and you will be able to style it how you like it again. Just give it a little time. :meow-hug:
I like Tangerine and And Then We Danced. But both left me feeling like “damn, life is hard” at the end, so I don’t know how well they mesh with cozy vibes.
Oh, I like HDTGM. It’s usually better when I’ve seen the movie, but I’ll listen to episodes for movies I’ll never watch. Sometimes they have good insights into movie-making or storytelling, particularly into why the logic of bad movies is so bad. Nothing revolutionary, but entertaining enough to put on while I do other things. It’s another podcast where you either like the personalities of the hosts and how they interact or you don’t.
I don’t know that I need to step back at all for this to be a dystopian horror-show. :illiberatory-theology:
Eraserhead is well-made, but a deeply unpleasant viewing experience. I would say that I like that movie, as much as you can like it, and I’d be fine with never watching it again.
Dune is fun, though.
I enjoy saying it, though.
By the standard of a tortoise, humans don’t live very long. Ergo tortoises and other long-lived creatures should eat people.
I honestly just google vegan recipes and look for something I want to make/eat. Sometimes it’ll lead me to a website with a variety of recipes and I end up browsing. Also there’s lots of recipe books, and most libraries will have a vegan/vegetarian cookbooks section.
You might just look up guides on getting familiar with the usual vegan “replacements” so you get an idea of how to cook with tofu, seitan, tempeh, etc. I personally have had good luck with Tofutti cream cheese and sour cream, and I like Hellman’s vegan mayo, but it depends on what stores carry near you. If the price isn’t too high, just try different things and see what you like. Aldi’s also carries a surprising number of meatless options, if you want to save money. I like the soy burgers they carry.
Then you cue up “Dead Man’s Party!” My Halloween playlist is basically complete.
