    XP - Good
    Vista - Bad
    7 - Good
    8 - Bad
    10 - Good

Oh boy, I can't wait to see what kind of quality the next Microsoft OS has.

But in reality, my guess is it's going to be much closer to 10 than 10 was to 8, 8 was to 7, and so on. It'll probably be closer to the macOS model of incremental improvements. Basically the same way the transition from macOS 10.15 to 11 was somewhat arbitrary, and now they are just going from 11 to 12. Windows 12 will probably be sooner rather than later. All of that also means I think this might be the final death of paid major OS upgrades.

Honestly, this is really just a better and clearer naming convention for Windows 10 21H2 update, because consumers have no idea what the fuck "Anniversary Update" or "Fall Creators Update" or "20H1" or "build 19043.1052 with Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3740.0" or "KB5004476" even means, which can make troubleshooting hard. They're just taking a page out of Apple's book and continuously updating everyone to new experiences with clearer names, so every 6 months or year, you'll see a "welcome to windows 11.1" or "Welcome to Windows 12" update as they make minor or more major frontend and feature updates.
