They are so good. I also made lemon bars tonight but they look so sad and I had to hide my sins under an egregious amount of confectioners sugar. Need to experiment with ways to get the bubbles out of the filling... 🧐🤔

I have not made lemon bars but I have dealt with viscous fluids and the solution for bubbles is a vibrator on the bottom. Ultrasonic is fastest but a cell phone works too.

I did some research to see how I could do it better and I'm seeing that refrigerating the filling overnight allows for the bubbles and foam to collapse. Might try that out.

Also blow torching it a bit before throwing it in the oven apparently helps too.

I've learned the hard way that they're not easy to make right. Not posting pics until I get a batch that I'm extremely proud of, but I'll get there. The next batch is gonna be killer AND pretty. 😎

And I bought a blow torch tonight. I'm about to have a lot of fun.

Snickerdoodle bars. Yum. They came out a little bready since I didn’t use a recipe. Yours look better! But mine still taste ok.

I'm glad they came out good! Every time I try to make snickerdoodle cookies, they come out too bready. Just need more practice, I suppose. I'm still turbo shit at baking but I recently learned that measuring your ingredients by weight makes all the difference. 😩😩

When i made them with a recipe they were perfect but i was being lazy this time. My partner said they taste like coffee cake or a bizcocho so that’s good enough i guess.

Top right looks plain but I'm sure the chips are within. Those look great.

I worked at a super fancy catering company where we had a 60 year old dude in charge of desserts and stuff and dude was an absolute artist with all sweets. He'd slap together amazing treats for me out of spare parts there better than most shit you could buy. Dude also would make me a kick-ass tira mish cocktail which was the dessert, with the cake already super soaked in vodka in a sundae bowl with the rest filled with brandy. The smell of cookies always reminds me of that dude now.

Finally some criticism. It does look plain but the chips were within. 😩

Damn, that's incredible. I'd love to be on that level on one day. I can hardly cook for shit, but I'm getting progressively better and faster at baking. Real snack tran hours.

I've been a cook forever and ended out being a baker for a bit. It's really not as technical as people would lead you to believe.

Baking on a hot summer's day, are you mad? You'd better be in the southern hemisphere

We're all going to boil alive on this shit hole planet. Baking in the summer is just heat training, or something like that.
