I don't think so. Historically, at least, long videos were algorithm suicide. That's why all these video essay people make all their money from Patreon, because the algorithm didn't promote dumb long videos.
I assume it comes down to the algorithm. 1 really long video performs better 3 than pretty long videos, so that's what people do.
