The movie seemed to actually be working towards this ending, as Knives was more developed as a character than Ramona. In the movie, that is. The graphic novel was different. I'm not sure that the producers of the movie really understood the graphic novel, before Scott is supposed to be a huge asshole.

Only watched Scott Pilgrim for the first time this year because it was on Netflix and holy shit that's one of the most misogynistic movies I've ever seen. It's shocking how poorly it's aged

This probably would have been the crowd pleaser ending though, since when the movie came out I remember everyone saying how much more they liked Knives over the other girl.

I never really understood the intended age ranges of the characters in that movie. They all look like they could either still be in high school or in there late 20s.

This movie is talked about 10x more now than when it came out. It wasn't a big hit or anything.
