Use your minimal confidence and self esteem to your advantage. Do stuff in for spite or in spite of others. Most people who do well at things actually aren't that good at that thing. No one knows what they're doing. Just pick something you enjoy and try to do it as hard as possible. Just rock out and have fun. Most amazing guitar solos are fifty percent just saying random notes that are available without needing to move your hand.
