You already said you're far south enough it doesn't get dark at 4pm, so I'm guessing you're also far south enough that your winter is my brisk fall day.
Coldest it gets is prolly -4°c if I'm lucky that year so I get what you're saying. I don't experience winter like you might and I haven't lived it but I do want to. I plan to move north once I have the funds
Idk it just gives me dopamine. Winter was almost my favorite time of year as a kid because I got more time alone to read I think. Cold weather makes me feel really cozy and gray skies make me nostalgic. I like when it rains and the ground stays wet for days. I like when I step outside and immediately get goosebumps. I like when the bitter wind stings my face and I get to run inside to a warm coffee with the sniffles.
Maybe it's because summer was always miserable. It's often above 38° in the summer but it will even stay that way till October sometimes and that's gotten worse as time goes on. Seems like summer lasts longer and longer so I treasure winter when I get it
Its less fun when you still have to go outside and do stuff in it instead of it just being thematic window dressing.
Idk man I do be going out in that weather and while it is cold it still makes me happy

Why would you want that? It sucks. This was an extreme but we had nights pushing -40 last year. You're still looking at -10 on a normal day
