There is a very sad depressing, generational story to be told with Obama. If you were in your early twenties in 2008, this was the first guy that inspired you. And then you had 8 years of materially declining life prospects, with sort of airy homilies about civics, while you couldn’t own a home, your economic prospects declined, and a global drone war raged across the world, and wall street bankers that wiped out 5 trillion dollars of wealth got recapitalized without any meaningful reforms.
And then he re-emerges as a life-style twitter, to coordinate the democratic party to destroy the only shot of hope that we see.
