    Someone made a post about human transmission of Avian Flu in the Fake News section like that's a funny bit or something. Where's the joke? Absolutely ridiculous and should be taken down.

      Honestly yeah, I make a point to not shit on anything anymore for the most part but the fakenews comm is annoying at best and alarming when I'm not paying attention

        If the articles are written in a way that is a fun satire I'm more okay with it. Reading the onion is a fun enough time at points, but just lying about news and making up stories defeats the purpose of having the community.

        Somebody posted a fake news post in a default comm a month ago because fake news was temporarily closed and I just blocked that person.

        I think the point is to make people double check the source before they believe something they read online? it's a worthwhile goal but an explanation of media literacy should really be an automatic reply to every post in that comm.
