In 2017, off-duty Border Patrol agent Dennis Dickey shot a target filled with an explosive blue powder, sparking a massive wildfire in Arizona.

The fire burned 190 square kilometres and took about a week for firefighters to contain.

Dickey was charged with a misdemeanor, sentenced to five years' probation and ordered to pay nearly $11 million in restitution.

Last year, a homemade explosive used to reveal a baby's gender killed 56-year-old Pamela Kreimeyer in Knoxville, Iowa.

The device was meant to spray powder but instead blew up like a pipe bomb.

Ms Kreimeyer, who was standing 13 metres away, died instantly when debris struck her head.

It's almost as if explosives aren't toys and shouldn't be treated like they are

      But whatever, FREEDOM WOOOOOOO

even if it was it's not like she needed to die for it. If I was restoring a local environment, something way more real than gender, and set off an explosive which killed a woman, the woman didn't die on the alter of environmentalism. I was just incredibly stupid and acted unsafely resulting in her death.

you set off a pipe bomb from not that far away you don't expect anything bad'll happen. It's a terrible shame they did everything right
