There is no wide scale worldwide crop die off happening that is outside of what is typical. We're very far from agricultural collapse. If you look at crop yield charts per year, the increase still outpaces population increase and there isn't really a significant slowing trend in recent years. Climate change isn't a sudden end of the world scenario, it's an "everything gets progressively shittier sporadically with the weakest being seriously damaged first" scenario.

Hurricane Maria did damage to PR that will never be repaired, and infrastructure will continue to collapse there. Flint and the thousand other towns with fucked up lead filled water will never fully be fixed. Bridges will be closed (or collapse) and not be rebuilt. Wildfire will continue to wipe out entire towns and the government will make no attempt to help anyone rebuild or relocate.

These things don't have to do with climate change, especially the Flint thing. That's just because the US government can't be arsed to fix shit.

"In general, fascism can best be understood as bringing the methods of imperial rule in the colonies into the metropole. In the colonies, genocide has been the rule, not the exception, of imperial rule. 'Democracy' is only for a select few of settlers; dictatorship and slave labor applies to the indigenous and other colonized people."

The way I've heard it put is, "Societal collapse won't look like Mad Max. It will look like Children Of Men."
