If you haven't read How Labour Built Neoliberalism make that priority. Best book to understand Autralian political economy since the 70s, and unmasks a lot of the myths and distortions about Australian politics and the labour movement.
I've also got my eye on a few titles that I haven't read yet- have heard really good things about The Fatal Shore, A New Brittanica and The Asset Economy
