I used to work with a libertarian who insisted it was solely a question of population density as to why I could only get 2mbps DSL in my San Francisco apartment.
“America is just too sparse for infrastructure like you saw in Europe”
:libertarian-approaching:
Because we actually have the best internet in the world :comfy-cool:
If capitalism is so good, why
doesthe UShave suchshitty telecommunication and broadband infrastructure?
Capitalism is pretty good at producing commodities and concentration wealth and power with the bourgeoisie and terrible at distribution. On top of that, infrastructure is a natural monopoly where capitalists will suck up funds and build the least shit they can. When there are exceptions to this, it's due to central planning by the bourgeois government.
Scratch that. It's because you, personally, aren't a telecom worker digging fiber trenches. Get back to work lazy bones.
40% of america: "....Jewish wizards I guess?"
another 40% of america: ".....Russian wizards I guess?"
From my understanding one of the reasons is a lot of Americans live literally in the middle of nowhere.
If the US can afford the logistics for 800 overseas military bases, it can afford to have nation wide broadband.
They should use those military helicopters to deliver thumb drives with newest content to people in bum-fuck nowhere.
went abroad and do you know how much a month of unlimited internet cost me on my phone? six dollars. six fucking dollars.
