I can't even get people to consider planning ahead for what's coming because what they're dealing with now is too overbearing. And I feel them, I can only really handle one or two apocalypses at a time, myself. But it's not going to go away.
Yeah man. It's frustrating because I want security and freedom coming out of school, and I'm just inherently a very competitive person and high achiever, but those two avenues lead you to like... management consulting, which would be soul-crushing.
I used to have dreams. I wanted to work in genetic engineering, work on rewilding and restoring habitats. But it just feels like in the face of climate change, what does that matter? If you can make a Northern White Rhinoceros from scratch, what does it matter if you can't make a habitat for it?
So instead I'm gonna get my 30 pieces of silver working 11 hours a day for McKinsey and telling myself this was what I always wanted.
