I don't see a CIWS or anti-cruise missile shooting this down as it slams into the deck at 90 degrees (and neither does China). Like that particular design looks a bit rubbish for the task compared to a purpose-built weapon, but the R7 was a bit rubbish for an ICBM and it could put a nuke on DC just fine.
Yeah but all you do is damage it. It doesn’t have an explosive payload. Building it with an explosive payload would be so expensive and utterly worthless compared to an equivalent amount of Chinese anti ship missiles.

the general tactic with missiles warfare i learned is to always send some cheap shit with the expansive shit , so the defenses dont know which targets they should prioritize ..
