sorry if this post is weird I just wanted to put this somewhere. All of my head cashiers stick up for me which is real nice :)

Like yesterday when some lady came up to me at self checkout full on yelling at me because no one came to cut her key (and not just yelling about the key but like being angry at me that no one came to help like I'm in charge of staffing the store) and as she is approaching me my head cashier steps between her and I to physically cut her off from yelling at me and interrupted her and told her he'd go help her.

I'm a bigger guy muscles wise but I'm really really soft spoken and so people who come up to yell at a retail worker about whatever random complaint they have so they can demand a discount tend to either start or really let loose on me only after I say anything and my head cashiers are really good at uninvolving me from the situation as soon as they start berating me and usually will drop a "what an asshole" type comment when the customer is out of earshot.

idk I've just worked jobs where I constantly would get walked over with no backup and it's just nice to have people who keep the assholes at bay
