I think the so called apolitical lumpen are far more prone to radical action than you might think. we often talk about how hungry people don't revolt and the labour aristocracy of the first world lives fat off the spoils of imperialism with all the fineries and gadgets they can ever want, even on minimum wage in most developed nations. you know who truly has nothing to lose? the lumpen. you know who has seen the worst of capitalism? the lumpen. Marx was so utterly wrong in his conclusion they could never be revolutionary.
i have had more success getting apolitical lumpenproles to join orgs and actually do something
but you would think that people who are already communists would be the easiest to get to, you know, do something
but nah, talking about the merits of various orgs in their regions is less important than talking about how a reboot of a children's tv show is problematic
honestly, people who call themselves leftists are the ones I expect the least from usually when it comes to actual class struggle. they tweet the right things, but that's as far as most go
