thank you Alaskaball, it's as bad as I thought lmao. you can now be judged based on versions of an edited comment you upvoted and never saw the change. I appreciate the transparency you consistently provide, it helps a lot!

I gave myself acute alcohol posisoning a few years ago, and holy shit that sucked. it felt like I was hungover for a week
this is so me god damn
so, I have an extreme anxiety disorder and would like to know something in particular. can mods see a time stamp of an upvote? because, it is possible to upvote a comment which is later edited to take a position that could be read as reactionary; it is also possible a seeming well meaning question can be hashed out in replies that make it clear such an innocuous post is in fact a brainworm of the poster and I am seemingly agreeing with the thread when I simply upvoted the earlier parts in a thread before later comments came.
honestly all of this seems so labour intensive and subjective in the sheer lack of context seemingly provided by a name in a list next to a comment, that I have to wonder the rationale at all in using upvotes as a form of moderation. just because it can be done doesn't mean you have to do it. the most consistent form of moderation will always be looking at what people actually post, and it is easy to just call it there. keep it shrimple 🦐
don't tell anybody, but sometimes I upvote comments that end in 9 because I want them to be nice multiples of 10. I await my flogging for promotion and platforming of reactionary content
very good post! thank you!
if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear huh :)
when one of my friends says something shitty that seems out of character, I talk to them about it. if admins can see who said what, then admins can talk to them about it. so yeah I do disagree with the immediate banning and not pulling well meaning comrades aside to go "hey, this comment you upvoted was kinda shitty. do you see why that is?". discuss things with comrades and help them improve
and even then I would do this with people who have a history of it. a one off can be a misclick, misreading, misunderstanding the words. I know my dyslexic ass has to reread posts sometimes because words just fall out of the sentence I read when I process them
admins not beating the arbitrary rulings on their fiefdom allegations
I am awful at keeping on top of tidying. but when I have to I can clean a whole room in like 2 hours spotless. ADHD is so annoying at times
civ AI is actually kind of annoying in how bad it is at trade. they'll do shit like ask for all of your luxuries and then offer 1 gold per turn. you dare offer a luxury swap of equal value? they'll retourt with hmmm ok and how about you also pay me 40 gold per turn too?
I get you don't want to program an AI that's easy to cheese with shitty one sided deals, but there's little reason to trade at all when you're just giving shit away to the AI as things stand
reading this at 3am GMT. yeah... I feel ya
kulaks worked harder than any of these fuckers lmao, and that's saying something. basically, a bunch of very rich people in Europe discovered it's pretty lucrative to own a bunch of land they can pay immigrants pennies to farm for them. in the case of Britian there was also no inheritance tax on this. often times this is even subsidised by the governments
in my experience, na. it just makes me even more scattered and unable to get shit going. stimulants are used to treat ADHD for a reason.
it's good slop content. tho some of them can be annoying when there's a bunch of 12 year olds
if there's one thing about ethnostates, it's that they famously have dozens of regional languages and dialects among many different ethnic groups
our signals have also only gone 200 lightyears-ish. like, even in our local neighbourhood of stars that's not far. and they only get weaker as they go further. so I doubt that anybody could ever find our radio signals unless like one of our immediate neighbours like proxima centauri has civilisattion
the main thing with signals at the distances of light years is, there's a LOT of radiation that just drowns out a signal as it gets weaker over distance due to red shift
do people just not get lice in China? like I can't say I've had them since I was a child, but I thought that was just a pretty universal experience
Lyudmila, I really appreciated the mop up you provided in the last struggle session it felt more productive than the 8 previous threads that weekend, and you do seem to always want to help listen to concerns. but, I can't say "yeah trust me, it's not gonna be as bad as it could be" fills me with confidence. a lot of users are wary of admins decisions rn I hope you appreciate, but as I said I respect a lot of the community engagement you show in these situations in particular. I hope it goes well whatever you guys hash out
