I’m only half way through the series, but it’s definitely my favorite series of the last 2 years. I would describe it as being part of a new genre: cringe-drama. I’ve seen a lot of cringe comedy, but a drama that uses that same toolkit is new to me
Deals with capitalism and colonialism in a way that verges on the heavy handed, but hits the mark so accurately and honestly that it manages to work anyway.
The scene in episode 3 where the Uber rich yuppie family is arguing about politics while the native Hawaiian dancers put on a show for them at their fancy hotel was just perfect.
If you haven’t seen it, watch it! If you have, what did you think?
I’ve loved it. Jennifer Coolidge is so good at playing emotional cringe. She has some of the most incredible deliveries.
Also I know he’s problematic, but the hotel manager is just too hot for me
:panting:
Yeah I love Armond. And I basically have to hide my face behind my phone whenever Jennifer Coolidge’s character is on the screen.
