    I remember this happening. I saw the parliament being attacked on live TV. I was a kid, so I thought it was scary but I didn't know what it meant. It wasn't until I was a little older that I knew what kind of disaster I had witnessed. By then most of us westerners had already forgotten what we had wrought and were just puzzled by the bitterness and poverty of the former Eastern bloc. If the plan was to remove the revolution from the earth and from our memories, the plan worked.

      Maybe this was the beginning of my communist brainworms. I saw something pretty young that illustrated the nature of power and made a lot of the mythology of liberal democracy seem somewhat hollow.

      After seeing this, it's clear that anyone telling you power doesn't come from the barrel of a gun is just lying.
