In a better future, Obama will be remembered as a Hideyoshi-like figure. A striving young leader who pulled the ladder of social mobility up behind him, who was a decent custodian of the status quo, but who was also a brutal manipulator and war criminal whose fragile empire could not survive the state he left it in.
