Snapped me back into wakefulness in a way, like suddenly I remembered that historical moments are indeed happening in the world I live in. I'd been feeling resigned to the idea that the misery in America is too calcified to do anything other than continue growing, and then FWOOSH a good old-fashioned fire comes along to make the world feel alive to me again
