I've always been curious about the nuts-and-bolts mechanics of embassies when things like this happen
like, somebody has the keys to that building and at some point has to give them to representatives of the new government
And what do the people currently there do? Stay in India or go back to Afghanistan?
The case of Taiwan on the PRC shows us that 'at some point' can mean a couple decades if empire wants it to.
