CPRF is always second, but this does look like an increase in their share. Unfortunately they're a bit shit, and all their candidates suck, but critical support.
if im not mistaken, cprf is like consistently second behind united russia anyway in elections. i don't really think this means anything, unfortunately.
Of all the parties in Russian parliament, KPRF si the one that's least likely to be controlled opposition.
Western liberals would be absolutely seething if the guys defeating Putin were communists and not some CIA-funded neoliberal ghouls.
check out the CIA parties of Yabloko and New People's pulling up the rear with 2% and 4% LMAO
most russian people ive talked to say the communist party of russia is basically aligned with putin, and are a bunch of trash socially repressive boomers.
and it was communists telling me this lol
So, when Putin eventually dies, what's that going to mean for Russia? Is his party a political project beyond simply having himself in power, or will it likely fall apart?
United Russia very much relies on Putin's personal popularity. He isn't even part of their party officially but he lets them campaign with his likeness and everything. People are definitely more loyal to Putin than UR electorally, if Putin got a new party I think most Russians would follow him. If he died I think United Russia would really be left in the wind and probably torn apart by internal competition like what happened before Putin. Though I would expect that Putin would likely make preparations before his death, and designate a political heir for UR or hell maybe even kill the party apparatus before he goes and replace it with something else
