Like, someone's going to live in that house. We have to normalize dense affordable housing a shit tom before "let's demolish Hollywood to build council housing" becomes a politically viable option. Socialism isn't asceticism, the point is entirely that we passed the technology threshold to give everyone plenty without forcing a communal poverty.
