Marxists can predict the future to some extent. So what marxist would think investing in property in LA of all places is a good idea. That place is not going to be a good place to live in the future climate change is going to fuck it hard. Never mind that capitalism has already fucked it hard it is already a miserable palce to live if you are poor. It is notorius for the worst of urban planing and sprawl. Like it's hell to anyone with sense.

So like why take out mortgage and invest 3 million into that. I get he is in "showbiz" and needs to be near Hollywood but all that really means is he needs to be close to some of the worst propgandist in the world and schmooze in some of the most bebauched and depraved parties imaginable and what ever else sychophantic psychopathic arse kissing passes for networking over there. All he has done is bound his material intrestest with that of the bourgeosie. Because now he will need to protect his investment and property to keep his family and new wealth.

I don't think people are wrong to point out this it's not envy or jelousy it's seeing pattern repeat and not having the words to describe it becuase they haven't read theory. Dude's material conditions are changing and that changes your outlook and not trusting an ego driven youtuber to stay strong and keep to their morals is perfectly sensible.

IDK maybe some theory nerds can put it into better words or maybe I'm wrong I've only been following this drama on here.

Listening to podcasts is not socialism. Making podcasts is not socialism. It's a big question as to how much having a leftist media pushes the needle. I think people are disppointed because they got the impression that a guy streaming about socialism was doing something and now that's ruined. All this leftist personality stuff is just a brand of media. Just because you don't buy it doesn't make any less consumption than watching CNN. Does anyone really think that CNN is the source of capitalism's power? Of course not.

If it's a question of making the left look bad, who really cares? I get that there are people who's entire introduction to leftwing politics was breadtube and podcasts, but they need to move beyond that at some point. This is a good time to do that. If you haven't learned the lesson yet, learn it now. Creating alternate brands and marketing schemes is not going to make socialism happen. If you think about that long enough you realize you also don't have to care about it or condemn it to let other people know you're on the level. Literally who cares? A media personality buys a house in LA. Shocked.

It has nothing to do with socialism or what it is. It's a bunch of people who should know better getting all wrapped up in an individual's choice or character. Then implicitly tying that to the fate of socialism by either anxiously condemning it or defending it because you don't wanna be owned for liking a millionaire media guy.

You don't even have to use too much theory on this one.

This deserves quoting because it's true.

Lots of kids out there learning that they weren't actually funding The Revolution with their parents' Amazon Prime subscription.
