Marxists can predict the future to some extent. So what marxist would think investing in property in LA of all places is a good idea. That place is not going to be a good place to live in the future climate change is going to fuck it hard. Never mind that capitalism has already fucked it hard it is already a miserable palce to live if you are poor. It is notorius for the worst of urban planing and sprawl. Like it's hell to anyone with sense.
So like why take out mortgage and invest 3 million into that. I get he is in "showbiz" and needs to be near Hollywood but all that really means is he needs to be close to some of the worst propgandist in the world and schmooze in some of the most bebauched and depraved parties imaginable and what ever else sychophantic psychopathic arse kissing passes for networking over there. All he has done is bound his material intrestest with that of the bourgeosie. Because now he will need to protect his investment and property to keep his family and new wealth.
I don't think people are wrong to point out this it's not envy or jelousy it's seeing pattern repeat and not having the words to describe it becuase they haven't read theory. Dude's material conditions are changing and that changes your outlook and not trusting an ego driven youtuber to stay strong and keep to their morals is perfectly sensible.
IDK maybe some theory nerds can put it into better words or maybe I'm wrong I've only been following this drama on here.
Yeah I mean if he had millions in cash just laying around then I can understand some pushback from the audience and people here. But (not know too much about the details because don't care about leftist twitch) I'm guessing he just got a mortgage, and frankly while 3 million is definitely a nicer house even in Cali, it still is probably just a mid-sized house that is nowhere near a mansion.
But then again I am absolutely speaking out of my ass here on this specific situation.
Idk I mean sure we should be doing as much on the ground work as possible, but are we supposed to pay insane rent until revolution or death just out of spite?

He's not an org or a party, he's a social media influencer with politics we find ourselves semi-adjacent to, arguably not so much as again I don't know much about him.
To anyone that gave him money - what did you expect? Had he said he was going to put the donations to any sort of use other than personal? Or did you just give him money because you liked his content? If so, then what exactly are we arguing about in this post? As the world burns at an ever increasing rate
I don't think the people upset are the ones who gave him money. I sure as hell never did. It strikes me as the opposite where people who gave him money are having a parasocial reaction to him being criticized.

I guess it's hard for me to even imagine what I would do with so much money, housing would be the most expensive, making sure my family was taken care of, and after that, idk I feel I wouldn't need much, but that doesn't mean I have the right to tell someone else what to do with thier money.
:100-com:
Your old pal Baked Potato Johnson has never given Hasan a cent! I'm just happy he can provide housing for his mom! Now that I'm divorced, I'll never have children who could do that for me.
I'm not sure I get this bit but godspeed BPJ
Suburb of LA here. Bought this almost 2000 sqft house in 2012 for about 350K. Right now others on the block are selling for a million or more, and ours is bigger and has some renovations so it could potentially be worth even more than that if we decided to sell it.
Beverly Grove (I think that's where Hasan's house is?) is much more centrally located and a more expensive area to begin with, but if this ridiculous spike in prices is roughly even around the city, then it might have been a million dollar home a few years ago or even less
