I wish rabbits were more social. Lil bastards don't even make noises at you, they just sit there and constantly analyze the likelihood that you're going to try to eat them. And maybe if you're really cool, and you spend a lot of time working at it, you'll convince them that probably won't happen.
And then they still don't even talk to you :(
You can clicker train rabbits and socialize them to hang out with you on the couch, communicate when they're hungry or want attention, and bully cats that step out of line.
That sounds awesome, I haven't heard about that. At that point it sounds like they'd pretty much be like a cat.
Yeah they're a bit more like cats and dogs than most people know, since socially we kind of absorb our idea of how they're cared for from places that treat them as livestock: put in hutch, feed food. They're actually very intelligent and trainable, they recognize you and say, "hello" by bumping you with their noses, and find elaborate ways to get into nearby food. And if they're grumpy they will "thump" at you, disapproving of what you did.
So you're telling me I can train them to dance to a manually cranked music box, got it.
Is that a Netherland Dwarf rabbit?
I mentioned these to the cutie I was having coffee with earlier today, and then lost her for like five minutes because she couldn't stop looking them up her phone lol.
