yeah, the problem is that since it's supposed to be a machine pistol that can be carried in a holster, you can only get away with a tiny foldable grip - anything bigger and you'd need some kind of specialized holster, like the ones for the MP7 (a gun which actually does have a somewhat more proper foregrip)
The trigger guard is wider than a regular M9 so you can hook your support hand thumb around it which probably makes it a little better than just the grip but still it's likely rough to shoot without gloves.
It's a fore grip for your off hand to stabilize the gun when it's firing in bursts.
That looks like an awful grip to try to hold on to but I guess it's functional. Looks very uncomfortable
