Lots of anticapitalist ones (Animals, RATM, etc) but the closest 'communist' album I'm aware of is Bragg's The Internationale. Anyone got any recommendations?
If not... Kinda gives me the motivation to write one myself ngl
Edit: thank you guys for all the recommendations! I have some new music to check out :)
Was gonna say Permanent Revolution by Catch 22 but I just looked up the track list and learned its a trot album. Interesting. Guess that makes sense with the title huh
Will check it out still, haven't listened to them before thanks for the rec.
It's a small album, but it would be pretty easy to expand
Explicitly? That's a tough one.
Diesel and Dust - Midnight Oil
Sandanista! (and to some degree London Calling) - The Clash
Sink With Kalifornija - Youth Brigade
Anything Peter, Paul, and Mary
I don't remember any of them off of the top of my head, but I took a dive down this rabbit hole several years ago and I found a bunch of Latin American doom metal bands. That might be a good place to start your search?
I believe The Clash were pretty explicitly socialist in their early days
70's rock / proto punk from the UK. The song Hammersmith Guerilla is basically treasonous calling for an armed revolution against the crown.
Refused- The Shape of Punk to Come is pretty good. The album was recuperated though but the message is still good.
