    As shit as his takes on communism and foreign policy are, Robert Evans' The War On Everyone remains one of the most concise summaries of the history of American fascism and paramilitaries I've found.

      The War On Everyone had me shook when I first listened to it. i think I listened to the ENTIRE thing at work in one go and by the end I felt like I had got my bell rung 10 times

        Check out Bring The War Home if you can. It covers a lot of the same ground but is a lot more thorough. Specifically going into the relationship between the feds and these groups in greater detail.
