IMHO I do not think nuclear will save us from climate change - it takes too long to get going to be effective - but this is going to really agitate some chud/nerd brains worms

Regarding batteries, I've seen some interesting designs for low-tech energy storage. Stuff like flooding an old mine shaft then lifting a weight up it to store energy, and lowering it to release.
