When they usually aren't all that classically attractive themselves.

So stupid. And it makes it seem like they worship attractive people.

Bella ramsey would be an example in which a bunch of chud nerds call her ugly constantly meanwhile they're not exactly lookers themselves.

Because they see women as products that have no value outside looking a certain way.

They literally believe "If a woman doesn't look how I want, what is the point of her existence?"

I think this is also why they're frequently homophobic. They're scared of being treated the way that they treat women.

This, /and/ many of them are actually very insecure (due to constantly trying to climb the social status ladder in a patriarchal mindset and social group) and the way they are able to sleep at night, to deal with cognitive dissonance and insecurity, theyve made their entire personalities into weaponizing their insecurities and inadequacies into a job and a personality of basically being a reactionary fascist.

And a huge part of reactionary fascism is chauvanism.

So, this is all a reinforcing loop that does at least gives them experience everyday in rhetorically convincing themselves and their audience that they are actually justified and correct.

They do worship attractive women, in secret. These are the kinds of people that are still joking about raping attractive women that are not interested in them, behind closed doors, with da boyz, etc.

Publically they criticize and disdain, privately they lust.

Project your insecurities in public, fetishize in private.

There ya go chud psychology rofl.

This is excellent. They're reactionaries and worship beauty and wealth and other things that would make them climb the existing social order.

    Complete speculation:

The “attractive privilege” is , usually at least, one of the few they don’t have access to. They are usually white, they are men, they tend to come from the imperial core.

It’s like the one type of privilege they don’t get to experience, setting aside that working on themselves is an option, and for that they’ll never forgive society. They lash out and seek to tear down everyone they perceive as “unfairly” benefiting from the genetic lottery (with a complete lack of introspection into all the other lotteries they rolled better on).

And then there’s all the well-trod ground of typical incel bs that this is just a part of. It’s like they created a self-sustaining ecosystem of rage, bitterness, and self-loathing.

Edit: Dirt Owl is probably more on the money for this, it gets straight to the core of it.

Because in their worldview a woman being ugly is morally wrong. Every woman has to work to be as beautiful as possible and anyone who is still ugly no matter how hard they try just got unlucky and should basically be shunned and pitied. They hate the idea of acceptance of a wide variety of appearances in women because that makes it more likely that women will put in less effort to be beautiful (which, remember, is not only a bad thing in the abstract but a morally wrong action).

They see it the way we see pro-cop media. It's glorification of something morally wrong.

Redpillers are misogynists full stop so there isn't much to explain in this particular case.

But ideologically amorphous whiny baby complaining about women in media not meeting their idea of aesthetic beauty is a thing, too. Those folks are looking for entertainment and have been taught that being entertained requires main character women to be "hot", looking at them is part of the enjoyment they've come to expect. A lot of this is socially constructed, including beauty standards that change over time. But that's the expectation that is set up. It's highly gendered and binary: objectifying male characters the same way is increasingly common but still much less frequent than for women. Male characters that are not "traditionally attractive" still get main roles and, relatedly, "get the [hot] girl", a very old sexist trope.

The basic summary of this context is that movies were made to suit (and simultaneously create) some fairly toxic male and patriarchal fantasies and they are still full of these tropes. These are also conscious decisions made by writers, producers, and even directors based on both their personal preferences (often male chauvinist) and a perception of increased marketability due to these expectations of what media provides as entertainment. A self-reinforcing spectacle.

So, the "oh no a woman in media not being hot enough" reaction is... a reaction to media that bucks these tropes. That media is trying to appeal to a wider market or has artistic vision that wants to push back on the sexist tropes. The babies that whine about this are literally reactionary, they're upset at developments that mean the loss of the kind of entrainment they have become accustomed to. They also find an online community full of ready-to-use rationalizations for how this is the woke mob's fault and they're trying to ruin everything for the, poor victimized (usually) white male treatl pi Rd. The existence of that community is a much deeper question that I don't have a fast answer for other than it's all about social alienation under capitalism.
