Price range is anything up to around £100 really but ideally it'd be closer to £50 bc I need to save atm

Second hand preferred as I don't want to spend much. I don't really care about playing graphics intensive games at high settings for now, just need something that will (hopefully) last the GPU shortage.

Preferably AMD as my monitor is freesync, and something that can handle two monitors (or should I just plug the other into mobo? Idk)

I mostly play League with my gf so it needs to handle that and preferably at 60fps (low settings is fine), other than that the most graphics intensive games I'll probably play would be No Man's Sky, Dark Souls 3 but I don't mind much if it can't handle them.

The most important thing is that it can play games smoothly and will last at least a year or so. I don't know much about different GPUs as I only dip my head into that world when I want to upgrade.

All help is greatly appreciated, pls save me from the embarrassment of barely being able to play Terraria while my gf has a setup that slaps games around on ultra 1440p 144fps :(

I got a used RX 570 that got me through hard times while my GPU broke, was damaged in shipping, and I had to file a shipping insurance claim and wait for all of that to settle 😤

I spent way too much on it, fuck coin miners, but I had it planned out with a friend to sell it to them as part of a decent gaming PC I built them.

The 570 allowed me to play Valheim with most settings turned down all the way at 60 fps. Idk about No Man's Sky or DS3, but there is probably a website that will tell you how many fps a game will get on specific GPUs.

Edit: I see you mentioned league. It still smashed 120 fps with a few settings turned down slightly.

Also, I just checked and GPUs are even more expensive now, wtf. An rx 560 would be a better price, and should still play league and well-optimized games on low at 60 fps. If getting a lower-end card, at least get a newer model so more features are supported.

Might be getting an RX550 from a guy. It's not ideal but it's cheap, not that used and he has proof it works. Sucks compared to my dead one but it should manage looking at benchmarks for it

~~AMD's integrated Ryzen apus are really good. Go for a 3200g or higher, they're awesome, cheap, and can run all that and more.

I get a good 40-60 fps or so on Dark Souls 3 at least, unsure with no man's sky but I've had zero issue running anything that the PS4 can with mine.

This obviously depends on your motherboard though, so if you don't have a socket it for it then nvm~~

Edit: lol nvm the gpu crisis took these up as well. It was like 90 when I bought it last year, now it's over 200. Rip.

Best bet would be like a 960 or 970 on ebay, maybe a 1050ti if you're lucky. They'll run around $150-200 used

Which CPU are you using? Most newish mid-range CPUs already come with iGPUs and are able to handle stuff like league of legends or terraria

It'd help if you post a price range but maybe you could get a good Dark Souls 3 experience with an RX 580 or even an RX 480. Failing that, an RX 570. I don't think the 560 will give you 60fps on high but maybe on medium. Prices and availability are all fucked though. I can't believe there is so much demand for old GPUs but here we are, at gamer's hellworld.

You can use YouTube to check footage of people paying games on certain hardware too, just type in the card you want to see tested and the game.

I could drop £250-300 on a new one but I'd rather just wait until prices are not so inflated, since replacing my current card with a used version of itself is currently 50% more expensive than when I got it new lmao)

Might be getting a RX550 for £50 which seems alright, not a great card but it'll manage

Oh wow, there's a guy getting around 50FPS in DS3 from a RX550 and an i3 with half my RAM. This might be the one

eh, i feel like most gamer/high end cpus specifically don't include onboard gpus - at least most Ryzen's don't

That's correct, they need to be in the mid-range I believe
