      Don't sell yourself short. You could very well be writing into a current and resonant movement.

      Writing like you describe doesn't have to be bad, and pretty often it isn't. If you're writing such similar stories, it might be something you can tap into. It's how trends start.

    I always get this feeling when I'm working on something and honestly just try and do it anyways. Who cares if its derivative. If they don't like it they can suck it up.
