      There's a lot of mellow stuff by Arvo Part but that means it comes with religious overtones, so I dunno if that's kosher to play to school kids even if they can't understand the words/musical symbolism

      Maybe try some Elgar, his https://youtu.be/P2OhGH3rFi4 Enigma Variations is a classic, it sounds more melancholy than it is, because the whole motif was based on a happy little ditty he would sing to his wife when he got home. It's actually really sweet. The four notes that got sampled in that Rob Dougan remix that was featured on the Matrix soundtrack is how he used to sing the four syllables of "honey, i'm home" to his wife.
