Or just sexualization of anime in GENERAL.
Even if the sexualization can be "equal opportunity" sometimes. It seems to sexualize "pretty boy" characters a lot too. I'm not talking about Astolfo or any meme characters, but even characters like Light Yagami, Natsu Dagneel, or arguably Shinji Ikari sometimes, so even when men get sexualized in anime, it's more often the more feminine men. As my dad puts it, "it's like this androgynous pea-dough- filly -ah. So male characters are oogled at for any prepubescent features"
Unfortunately, my dad saw a few scenes of Evangelion and soul eater when I watched them as a teenager. Today, we kind of laugh about how sexualized anime is and we've always been on good terms.
I just cringe when I think that my dad might think I'm one of these Twitter idiots that defends oversexualized anime like this
