One of the most insightful things I've read on this site was a comment you made. It was something along the lines of "if you are solely acting to survive under capitalism, you have effectively been integrated into its function" only way more succinct and poetic but also with a sympathetic twist. I didn't favorite it because I'm dummy fickle and forgot that was a thing.

I think it might have been last November or December ish; I was thinking about it right as I was starting a new job. So uh... do you know how I'd go about finding that gem of wisdom?

That would appear to be from my goodbye note when a bunch of trans users left the site

Now, this is the part where people typically drag up specific examples of why they’re leaving, but honestly if you don’t get it by now, it isn’t worth my time to try and explain it further. Instead, I’ll say this: your ideology is determined by your actions, it’s not something you can ascribe to yourself. I don’t care how well you understand the works of Marx, if all you do is put your head down and exist within the capitalist system, the value you bring to the world is wholeheartedly capitalist. So, I don’t care how hard you believe that you are a socialist or a communist or an anarchist, the cis users on this site tend to fall into one of two ideological camps. The users who have actively made this site more hostile to minority groups are reactionaries. The users who have sat idly by as this has happened are liberals. If these camps are what pass as “left” these days, we might as well [redacted].
