        I think what happened with biker gangs was that motorbikes were cheap so young men bought them, they then hung around other young men with motorbikes and decided together they were pretty tough, from there they started buying drugs and selling them.

        I don't think there was ever that much more to them than that

          the normal origin story told is they were ww2 vets dealing with ptsd who didn't feel comfortable re-entering society so they lived rough riding cheap bikes and being hooligans with their bros and breaking norms

              Nah that's pretty much ny experience in the US too. You kinda just run into the same guys over and over around town. Hoon around a bit together, help em when they break down, next thing you know you're at a rally.

      I mean, you can't really compare actual 1% clubs like the Hells Angels and Bandidos who are basically international criminal orgs with the larping boat dealers that make up Bikers For Trump. Literally the only thing they have in common is that they sometimes ride bikes.

      They were never comrades, but they weren't always reactionary. Also, you can definitely be right wing and anti establishment.

      The Hunter S Thompson book about the Hells Angels is great, btw.
