It’s not that veganism as a theory or practice is racist towards indigenous people. It’s that people on this site we’re being racist and their racism was promoted by mods.

That was indeed exactly what nearly everyone I challenged with vegan talking points responded with, yes. Regardless of relevance, they turned to their idea of veganism = anti-indigenous to avoid very basic self-crit. Just like you did, as well. I point out the dominant driving narrative and behaviors during that period and you turn to the excuse that justified the rejection of vegan comrades, the banning of indigenous vegan comrades, and the quarantining of c/vegan. I was, you know, actually heavily involved at the time. I know exactly what happened.

      It wasn’t one. That’s just a lie.

You're having trouble being honest. Please correct this, comrade. There was one indigenous comrade stoking the idea that being indigenous requires eating meat, that's the person who received problematic dismissals, that's the person whose identity was used as a shield to avoid self-crit. Other indigenous comrades spoke up in support of or against various aspects of this conflict, but there was one pushing this idea and one whose experience was being simplified down to their identity and used by white cis dudes to avoid questioning their habits of consuming animals.

It has nothing to do with being “authentic.”

The indigenous comrade I'm referring to disagreed with this statement. Utterly.

Certain tribes and communities have customs and traditions and don’t need to be told by whites or anyone outside their community what’s morally or ethically acceptable while they try to escape from an ongoing genocide.

I'm not going to relitigate this as it's not relevant to accurately summarizing this community's handling of sassy vegans - as well as its banning of normal-ass vegan indigenous comrades.

And just shouting self-crit at the mountain ain’t gonna change the reality of what happened.

There's no mountain. It's still just normative comrades confirming their biases.
